After installing Windows 7 with everything operating well, I have now begun getting frequent (every few minutes) spells of disk activity that are so intense that I can do nothing until they cease. I have tried disabling services (indexing, superfetch),my pagefile is set to automatic and memory use is only 50%. I even uninstalled Norton Internet Security 2010 to see if that would eliminate the thrashing. Even with only a single program running (I've tried IE, Opera and Firefox as browsers) I still havethis issue.

Nothing seems to stop it. I am about to uninstall W7 and go back to XP. Any suggestions?

Hi,If you need to check for malware here are my recommendations - these will allow you to doa thorough check and removal without ending up with a load of spyware programs runningresident which can cause as many issues as the malware and maybe harder to detect as thecause. No one program can be relied upon to detect and remove all malware. Added that often easyto detect malware is often accompanied by a much harder to detect and remove payload. Soits better to be overly thorough now than to pay the high price later.
I'm using 32-bit Visual Studio 2010 on Windows 10-x64.Some time ago I added the Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF) (version 43.0.0.0) via NuGet in order to utilize a Web-browser inside my 4.0 WinForms Application. If I run my app from within Visual Studio and attempt to launch the browser, the browser works flawlessly. However, upon usingClickOnce to deploy my app and attempting to launch the Web Browser, it throws the following error: 'Could not load file or assembly 'CefSharp.Core.dll' or one of its dependencies. The specified module could not be found.' Although all therequired CEF dll files are present in the binRelease folder. The CEF site stated that I needed to deploy Visual C Redistributable, so I downloaded VC 2013-x86 and created Bootstrapper product.xml and package.xml as a prerequisite. However, it still throws same error after ClickOnce deployment andlaunching the browser. Is it possible that ClickOnce is somehow not deploying all the CEF dll's when it creates the install? Hi, If you have any suggestions on how to includeUnmanaged resources in ClickOnce, please share this with me.In fact, I just needed to 'Add existing item' into the root folder of the project and then set 'Content' and 'Copy Always' to add a dll in clickonce. The following document may help:Regards,FrankieMSDN Community SupportPlease remember to click 'Mark as Answer' the responses that resolved your issue, and to click 'Unmark as Answer' if not. Re-add the reference, and browse to that DLL file in your project and select it.3, On the reference, set 'Copy Local' to 'True'.4, set the publish status to 'Include'.Now it should show up in application files, because your code references a local copy, and it is set to deploy it.Regards,FrankieMSDN Community SupportPlease remember to click 'Mark as Answer' the responses that resolved your issue, and to click 'Unmark as Answer' if not. Hello StanlyIn getting back to you on this, I should mention that the DLLs that ClickOnce is not deploying areUnmanaged resources. I've tried adding them manually by right-clicking on References, Add Reference, but I get an error 'Could not load file or assembly 'd3dcompiler43.dll' or one of its dependencies.
The module was expected to contain an assembly manifest.' This file may not be a managed assembly. I also tried using MageUI, implementing some suggestions to add the DLLs, referring to the following article'However, after copying the unmanaged resources to the deployment folder and using MageUI to add them to the Application Manifest, theDeployment Manifest complained that it didn't match the Application Manifest.Perhaps I missed a step, or am going about it in the wrong way.If you have any suggestions on how to include Unmanaged resources in ClickOnce, please share this with me. The entire problem at this point, is the failure to have ClickOnce include and install the unmanaged DLLs.Notice the following comment by taylorjonl, regarding the necessity of getting ClickOnce to include the following files. Under the Publish tab. I had been attempting to add them via Add Reference, but since they weren't managed resources, it kept complaining that they didn't have amanifest file.I tried your latest suggestion and it works. All the above referenced CefSharp unmanaged resources successfully got added.
I changed them from Include (Auto) to Include and successfully published my App.When I attempted to launch the Web browser, it worked without a hitch.Thank you for your kind suggestions that finally brought a resolution to this puzzling situation.
